A Super Kind of Halloween

While Tony Stark took Spiderman and Batman trick-or-treating down one half of the street, Catwoman stayed with Superman and handed candy to the other superheroes and villains, mummies and monsters, fairies and Frozen characters that came to the door. Then it was Tony Stark's turn to stay with Superman, and Catwoman held Batman's hand to keep him from tripping over his costume, and reminded Spiderman to say, "thank you" after each treat was dropped into his bag.

After the trick-or-treating excitement, our Superman became our Pooperman, and then we ate dinner: chicken noodle soup in a spider. Spiderman and Batman thought eating the spider legs was fun.

Then we spent the rest of Halloween at a friend's house--the kids watched a movie and then ran around on a sugar high, and the adults played a game and chatted.

Halloween was super fun this year, and what made it even better was the low cost. Spiderman's and Batman's costumes were borrowed from friends, mine was simply my track spandex and a cheap mask from Walmart that had cardboard triangles stapled to it, and Deacon's was the work of a printer and a leftover cape from last year's Halloween fun. Cam's was the most expensive at maybe $20 for his arc reactor, which, unfortunately, lost its batteries somewhere on our street while trick-or-treating.
